Citizen as a scientist Airquality ( Gothenburg method LOV-IOT )

klantto

Hej!
Here is the information needed to replicate the idea of LOV-IOT Sweden.
@klantto and @evdoxia.kouraki will update with information that is needed to do the same thing as we did on the 5 april to co-create air quality living lab day ( Forum för öppna data ).

LOV-IOT is the project in Sweden that Gothenburg has and are replicating to other cities.
most information is out on iotsverige.se and luftdata.se
Gothenburg contact and the person who knows the best is: * Ågot Watne mailto:agot.watne@miljo.goteborg.se

Any questions about who me and Eva did on the 5 of april contact us but for other LOV-IOT related questions contact Ågot.

This is the paper our users for the day had to sign both in english and swedish. Edit it to fit your City.

@klantto and @evdoxia.kouraki,

Last night I came across this project https://luftdaten.info/
Unfortunately I don’t speak German or Swedish  so I’m having trouble working out if it’s exactly the same thing as LOV-IOT or they are separate but using the same standards?
If there are ‘national’ sub groups, is there a UK version?

sydsimpson

I also noted that the project also looks at water quality monitoring.
Do you have any details? :slightly_smiling_face:

sydsimpson

Ah ha! I’ve found the English version

There are more details about LoV-IoT on loviot.se. It is not very detailed there, but just let me know if you want to know more:)

Hi @sydsimpson, what was the date for your air quality event in Bradford where you wanted to implement/test/showcase these sensors in schools?

Also, should this then become a new working group?

timvanachte

Luftdaten aggregates multiple countries. I discovered you can add your country in the map URL to explore sensors in your country (also cities in some cases). Actually, one of our colleagues hooked up one at home to the Luftdaten map, and now I am also thinking about following a workshop myself and add +1 on my own house in Ghent.

Hi @claus, the target date is Clean Air Day on 20th June.
A separate solution working group might be appropriate perhaps within a broader Environment Challenge working group? What do you think?

claus

Created!

Do you have any notes to share from your table on this? It sounded really interesting, and something other partners could perhaps jump on board with (ie set up some sensors, with or without schools, and start broadcasting together on luftdaten)

sydsimpson

Thanks @claus,
I’ll post something soon.
Hope to be meeting ‘Well Bradford’ today to get further details of requirements.

evdoxia.kouraki

Hi @sydsimpson @Adrian !

Do you have any updates from the Air Quality experts of your Council ? Are they interested to organize a similar event (on the 20th of June) to the one we had in Gothenburg ?

Looking forward to your news!

Best

sydsimpson

Hi @evdoxia.kouraki,

Bradford hasn’t finalised what is happening on the 20th June but @Adrian is trying to arrange an event/workshop as an opportunity to share experiences, bringing together several similar air quality projects from in an around Bradford. It would be great to have some transnational involvement too. I believe he’s been in contact with @klantto.
I’ll see what progress is making with this :slightly_smiling_face:

@evdoxia.kouraki @sydsimpson

I got a mail that Adrian sent out and most seem eager to continue this venture.
Im sure Ågot and Lov IOT would love to continue working with us. What is the next step @Adrian ??

sydsimpson

They’re here!! :star_struck:

evdoxia.kouraki

Wow that’s great!!!

evdoxia.kouraki

Hej!
Did you translate the instructions on how to build the sensors in English for your event?
If yes, can you please send them ?

Thank you!

Best
/Eva

Adrian

Morning @evdoxia.kouraki apologies has nobody got back to you? As far as I know the instructions weren’t translated but @dhaval may have produced something different for the Clean Air Day workshops that he did with the schools. @sydsimpson
