I just came across an interesting H2020 project called SMURBS; coordinated by National Observatory of Athens which focus on smart solutions for air quality 
In the project, partners developed “DiscovAIR” - a mobile application providing individuals (citizens and tourists) with current and forecast assessment of their personalised environmental risk and thermal comfort at at their location and for planning visits to the sights of their interest.
